Please be advised there will be welding work taking place on the Swing Bridge, Deck, Steel Plates, this week beginning this evening and anticipated to conclude at 06:00 hrs this Saturday morning, (27 July 24). Welding work will only take place during the evening/night hours. All efforts will be made to conclude as early as possible. The work is anticipated to begin each evening at or about 1800 hrs, continue through the night, and conclude at 06:00 hrs each day.
As the bridge does not routinely swing during the evening hours, it will remain closed in a normal state with traffic flowing normally. Once work commences, Blocker vehicles will be put in place and the Wig Wags lowered. When traffic is present to cross, the Blocker vehicles will be removed, Wig Wags lifted and traffic will be allowed to flow normally, as required, or until clear long enough to again facilitate work. If EMS arrives and requires emergent crossing, to clear the bridge for traffic, will still require the same removal time, approximately 20 min. to clear equipment, equipment vehicles, Blocker vehicles, wig wags and persons.
