NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

CONCERNING A PROPOSED ZONING BY‑LAW AMENDMENT

BY THE TOWN OF NORTHEASTERN MANITOULIN AND THE ISLANDS

HOUSEKEEPING AMENDMENT

FOR BY-LAW 2018-41

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands will hold a public meeting on the 28th of July 2020, at  7:00 p.m. at the Waterfront Artisan Incubator and Technology Center, to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under Section 34 of the Planning Act.

The purpose of this Zoning By-law Amendment is to correct anomalies in Zoning By-law 2018-41 by amending the wording in the Definitions and General Provisions sections to more clearly reflect the intent of the Town when the Comprehensive Zoning By-law was adopted. This By‑law applies to lands throughout the Town and no Key Map is included in this Notice.

ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendments.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands on the proposed zoning by-law amendment, you must make a written request to the Town at the address below.

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
