Due to its unique location, the Town of Northeastern Manitoulin has vast recreation opportunities including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, power boating, sailing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, fishing, hunting, hiking, and much more!
Within the municipality there are numerous parks and hiking trails. Please visit our Parks and Recreation page for more information about out programs, trails and viewpoints!
In addition to our natural resources, the Town of NEMI operates the NEMI Recreation Centre on a year round basis. The Recreation Centre has a hockey ice pad, a curling ice pad as well as public space for children’s, youth and adult programing. Outside of the Recreation Centre there are 2 tennis courts.

Low Island Park
Low Island Park is the western anchor of our waterfront development project. Low Island Park has developed steadily although slowly over the past 40 years. Several plans for the park have been developed over those 40 years, but it is time to solidify a development plan for the next 5 to 10 years.
